Hi, I’m Leah Leaves and I’m a clinical hypnotherapist.  Over the last eight years, I’ve helped hundreds of people to overcome their anxiety and to enjoy life more.

Did you know that just because you have ADHD doesn’t mean you have to suffer with anxiety? You probably find that quite hard to believe.  We’re so used to hearing about how anxiety and ADHD go hand-in-hand. And whilst that’s sometimes true, I’m going to share with you some information and myths that are going to revolutionize the way that you see your wellbeing and your ability to be happy in just a short period of time.

So, what is this new and novel approach to anxiety and ADHD?

Well, it’s solution focused hypnotherapy. It’s a way of dealing with the root cause of anxiety and actually calming the parts of the mind that cause the physical and emotional symptoms of anxiety. Now, I know what you’re probably thinking…

I’m already working with my doctor with regards to my anxiety and my ADHD, so how is this different?

Let me explain how you can take control of your own wellbeing with amazing results.

Myth #1: ADHD medication is all you need to treat anxiety in people with ADHD

The thing is, anxiety isn’t always caused by ADHD.  In fact, if your anxiety isn’t caused by ADHD then ADHD meds will likely make your anxiety worse. Even when ADHD is part or all of the cause of the anxiety, some people can’t or don’t want to take medication and are then left struggling with the symptoms of anxiety.

Myth #2: many doctors don’t have access to specialised ADHD therapy options

This is important because the way that ADHD and anxiety influence each other means that the type of therapy, the methods that work really well for neurotypical people may not work at all for someone with ADHD.  In fact, sometimes it can make things worse. This means in order to have effective help for your anxiety, you need somebody who specialises in both ADHD and anxiety.

Myth #3: working out why you’re anxious and creating strategies to manage your ADHD are the most effective ways to reduce your anxiety

In actual fact, the part of the mind that creates anxiety has the ability to completely override your thinking mind. This means all these amazing insights and strategies you’ve developed are just completely overridden the moment the anxiety hits.

Besides, most people don’t know why they’re experiencing anxiety and so you need a therapy that can influence this instinctive part of the mind directly.

Now you’re probably thinking because it’s not available on the NHS, it’ll be really expensive. But actually, it’s not very expensive at all. Especially when you weigh it up against the impacts of the anxiety on your life.

Just think about it, if your anxiety becomes crippling, and of course that’s if it hasn’t already, what will the impact be?

How will it affect your ability to do your job, to earn money?

What will the impact be on your family and your relationships?

How about your happiness?

It doesn’t bear thinking about does it?

But, I’m here to tell you, you’re in control.

Just because I have ADHD it doesn’t mean that I’m the expert in your life or your ADHD. But the fantastic thing about the methods I use is that I don’t have to be. You’re the expert on you and my job is to help you work your mind to your advantage.  To help you find the solutions that work for you. It also means you’ll never find me suggesting you just focus more or perhaps, you know, work a little harder.

With the methods I use, I can help to make you feel immediately calmer and more relaxed, whilst making longer-term changes, allowing you to remain anxiety free.
